Splatoon 2 is a third-person shooter game developed and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch, which released worldwide on July 21, 2017. It is a sequel to Splatoon, and includes a story-driven single-player mode, the Octo Expansion (a paid downloadable item that includes another single-player mode, special pieces of octopus-themed gear, and playable Octolings after completing the game), and an online multiplayer mode. By December 2018, Splatoon 2 had sold over eight million copies worldwide, selling better than its predecessor and making it one of the best-selling Switch games.
